7 lbs, 15 oz

I had my 2-week Doctor's appointment yesterday. I guess they want to make sure I'm doing okay - like that I'm healthy, and gaining enough weight and stuff. I think they also want to make sure that my parents know what they're doing, and that they aren't freaking out too much. Anyway, the appointment was good, and I guess I'm gaining plenty of weight. The Farm Family

Yoder, Nancy, & Aunt Gina came to visit this weekend. Even though I was only 10 days old and it was pouring rain almost the whole time, we still managed to do some fun stuff. Everyone was fighting about who got to hold me next - that made me feel pretty good. We even went out to eat at Jake's, which is Yoder's favorite restaurant. Aunt G wore me in the sling the whole time.... I made lots of my little baby noises, and I've never been happier!

Not so sure about the bath

Mom & Dad gave me my first real bath at home today. It was not so great. They're going to need to work on their technique. I made sure to let them know that I wasn't too happy.

Just around the block

We went for a VERY short walk today - literally around the block. My mom wasn't walking too well. I hear she runs all the time.... hopefully someday it will be a little farther and faster than this!

Swaddled

Here I am in my swaddle blanket. My dad is pretty darn good at wrapping me up. I couldn't get out no matter how hard I tried - so I figured it was easier just to go to sleep.

HOME! January 17, 2008

I'm glad to finally be home from the hospital. I don't think mom & dad really wanted to leave. It WAS pretty nice there with all those nurses - they do EVERYTHING. But, my house looks pretty nice too... I think I'm going to like it here. My dog Maddie was excited to meet me - she loves to get on the floor with me and roll around too.

A little more time in the hospital

We spent the whole day today in the hospital. Grandma Tia was just so excited to hang out with me - she's pretty happy that she got to meet me on my very first day out in the real world. She's wearing her favorite blue scarf - maybe she knew I was going to be a boy all along. We were busy pretty much all day - Mom & Dad have SO many great friends who came to visit. Good thing, because I think they're going to need a lot of help!

January 15th, 2008

Well, here I am! Sam Yoder Milverstedt. I was born today, January 15th, 2008 (my due date, by the way), at 5:45 p.m. I weighed 7 pounds, 9 oz, which, again, is pretty much right down the middle. Mom & Dad had a long and pretty crazy day waiting for me to get here - they just had no idea what to expect. They didn't even know if I was going to be a boy or a girl! This first picture is the "before" - taken today on the way to the hospital. And a picture of me just seconds after I was born. Not sure I like it too much here, honestly.
